Although February marks the end of the meteorological winter, Copper Mountain is just pushing into high gear for the snow season. To celebrate, Subaru Winterfest arrives to jubilate all things Father Frost has to offer. Dubbed “a one-of-a-kind concert and mountain lifestyle tour where skiers, snowboarders, friends and families come together to share their love for all things winter,” the three day festival over Presidents Day weekend promises to enhance your already great visit to Copper Mountain while simultaneously working to “Play Forever.”
Ski and Ride
The main event for the festival is of course the snow covered slopes. You made the trek to Copper Mountain for a reason: to carve, schuss, glide, and jib your way down the endless terrain that the resort has to offer. As part of the festival, demo the latest and greatest from a variety of the industries best vendors. If your looking to try out some new planks, check out the versatile and advanced Enforcer series skis from Nordica or one of Lib Tech’s dreambuilt snowboards in the T. Rice collection.
Live and Learn
Take some time to explore the many different tents sponsored by conscious stewards of the environment. Each of Subaru WinterFest partners have been led to the event by the footprint of Copper’s Play Forever initiatives of “protecting the environment and inspiring participation in adventure. If all of the nature loving makes you hungry, there’s plenty of Smashmellow and Chocolove S’mores, warm drinks, and scooby snacks on hand while you learn about efforts to support avalanche dogs who are crucial to search and rescue operations.
Rock and Roll
Each day of the festival will feature live music from different national acts courtesy of Harmon Kardon. On Friday (2/15), Kind Hearted Strangers will take the stage to kick off the weekend. Saturday (2/16) will showcase Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real. The self labeled “cowboy hippie rock” band was born in the shadow of music legend Willie while supporting rock giant Neil Young as his touring band. Finally on Sunday (2/17), Langhorne Slim & the Law will show off their indie rock rooted in Americana. Each day of music is expected to ice cap your day of adventure. Throughout the weekend visitors will have ample opportunities for giveaways, swag, and samples all in the name of winter. Don’t miss out on Subaru Winterfest at Copper Mountain.
