This post is the people who need a good hearty breakfast in the morning, who cannot cut it on a cup of coffee and a baked good alone. This post is also for you if you skip breakfast and survive on coffee until noon because this place is that good… like seriously, that good. We go to Copper Mountain almost every weekend to ski and inevitably end up hangout out in Camp Hale for breakfast and coffee. That is until we discovered Toast & Co. and now we are totally hooked.
Toast & Co. is new to Copper Mountain and Summit County this year and serves both breakfast and lunch items. It is are open from 7:30am until 2:30pm daily and will fulfill all your mountain brunch needs. Did I mention they have a cocktail menu? So yes, all your morning brunch needs. The first time we went we dropped our daughter off at ski school ahead of time and turned it into a little morning date and it was one of my favorite memories from this ski season. The atmosphere is really neutral meaning for us that morning, it created a really nice ambiance for a day date. When we went back the second time with our daughter, it was also perfectly suited for an entirely wilder energy level. The music they have playing at Toast & Co. is the best; every wonderful, whimsical folk like song you could imagine. Don't even get me started on the furniture, It is a quirky mix that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into cozy mountain cabin that just happens to have giant leather couches and chandeliers inside.
My husband (Ben) got coffee and I ordered tea and we were both really satisfied with the quality. I am always impressed by a breakfast place that actually has more than one tea option so the fact they brought out a box with different choices and served it in an adorable tea cup was refreshing and just added to the cozy feel. They have it laid out so that you could sit at the bar and order, get coffee and pastries to go, or sit at a table and be waited on which is what we had opted for. The service that first time was incredibly fast. I ordered The Classic which is eggs, potatoes, bacon, and really good toast and Ben got the brioche French Toast which looked amazing. The second time around he got something with chorizo and toast and I split pancakes with our daughter and it was equally delicious.
There are actually items on the menu that pretty much cover any sort of diet or food preferences and there are lunch items so if you aren’t a breakfast person, there are a lot of choices. If you are looking for that big breakfast, or just a spot to get out of the cold and have a cup of coffee and a pastry, Toast & Co. should be your new spot. I know we will be back. Mostly because I need every single pasty in their pastry case… like now.
